Not Just Navratri, October Has a Long List of Other Festivals Too! ✨
This Wednesday Post: It's all about the festivities & events happening in October - from Durga Puja in Kolkata to Music Fests in Delhi, Art Fests in Bengaluru to food hopping in Mumbai.
Hey there!
In a diverse and vibrant country like India, festivals abound in plenty. That reminds me of a delightful Bengali saying - 'Baro mashe, tero parbon' (literally meaning, there are more festivals than there are months in a calendar year!). I am always amused to see how India's cultural tapestry is woven with a plethora of celebrations.
Now, let's take a moment to revel in the sheer joy of festivals! They possess a unique kind of magic, capable of mending a broken heart or transforming a gloomy day into a radiant one. Festivals exude an infectious energy, akin to a shower of happiness confetti, which has an irresistible tendency to spread far and wide.
This is precisely why I feel staying informed about the incredible festivals happening around us is such a splendid idea. After all, when it comes to festivals, the more, the merrier!

Destination of the Week: Shantiniketan, West Bengal 🏡
Having been born and raised in Kolkata, Shantiniketan was more than just a weekend escape for me. I have fond memories of visiting this charming rural Bengal village countless times with my parents, and later, it became a destination for school excursions. While Shantiniketan is renowned as the former residence of Asia’s first Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore, it holds a unique place in my heart because it's where my best friend hails from.
(The word ‘Shantiniketan’ literally translates to ‘The abode of peace’)
Today, Shantiniketan isn't merely another UNESCO Heritage Site; it has evolved into a prominent hub for art, literature, culture, mindful living, and education. Its allure is further enhanced by the surrounding natural beauty—the rustic red soil that underlies the town, the lush woods that embrace the region, and the palpable serenity that permeates the air—all combine to make it truly special.
If you’re planning to explore Bengal, make sure to visit Shantiniketan for a couple of days!
What to watch this weekend!
Curious about what to indulge in this weekend for some easygoing entertainment? I've got the perfect recommendation for you!
It’s ‘Love & Gelato’ - where a pre-med student embarks on a journey to fulfill a promise to her ailing mother. Set against the backdrop of Rome, she has the summer of a lifetime, guided by her mother's cherished journal. Along the way, she not only succumbs to the city's enchantment but also forms deep connections with its people and, of course, indulges in the irresistible gelato!
This weekend, it’s time for Netflix & chill - but for now, watch the trailer here!
